What's unique about this Ogidi Ela cyber-community, is that members address each other as 'Forumite' irrespective of age or social background and they operate under a Code of Ethics which every member is required to subscribe to. The forum has provided a great platfrom for discussing and generating ideas and thoughts about the past, the present and the future of Ogidi Ela as a community with strong emphasis on the things that unite us as a people.

Members of the forum have jointly raised a total of 800,000 naira out of the initial 1.7 million naira needed to complete the first phase of the refurbishment of Ogidi Community Secondary School. Through the forum, Ogidi History Project has been created. A 14-member Ogidi History Project team with Oliha of Ogidi, Chief Alphonsus Ehindero as its leader, was inaugurated in Ogidi on Saturday September 20, 2014. The project aims at preserving the community’s cherished identity, give future generations a good grasp of who the Ogidi people truly are and enable others to fully appreciate them and their history.

In December 2015, the group held its first annual general meeting in Ogidi. One of the highpoints of the inaugural meeting was the formal launching of Ogidi-Ela NGO, a voluntary organisation registered as a charitable trust for the development of Ogidi.
